Andrew McLeod Ram Ring | 9ct Solid Gold
A beautiful heavy weighted ring covered in a collage of artworks by designed in collaboration with renowned NZ artist Andrew McLeod.
9ct Yellow Gold.
A circular face as a symbol of eternity, flanked by ram’s heads - an animalistic effigy of virility and strength. Modelled on Scythian gold work, notched with prehistoric markings speaking a language long buried by the sands of time, picked out with the tree of life and struck through with complex geometries.
Mcleod, a renowned New Zealand artist, is known in part for his varied and impressive output spanning works in oil and digital print through to zines and textiles. Whichever medium Mcleod chooses, random objects float in an imaginary world where perspective, weight and shadow do not exist, always with a sense of his discombobulated view of society. It has been said that his work exists on the cusp of a dream state and a neurotic episode.
Each ring is a visual battleground of harmony and dissonance, seamed with a dark humour from within the shared deeply creative mindsets and aesthetics of the co creators.
